Welcome

Only since January 2002 have I been using a single lens reflex camera (SLR). This would put me at the "beginner" end of the photography spectrum. However, in these few short years, my knowledge of photography, the photographic process, film, light, equipment, and composistion has grown at an incredible rate. Photography is something I have sunk my teeth into and have held on with all my might.

This is not to say, however, that I understand photography. I have a working knowledge of many terms and techniques but am lacking in immense ways in others. I've been taking side streets and alleyways along this photographic highway.

I guess what I mean is that I not only enjoy photography but I enjoy learning about photography. I wish I could spend many more hours each week reading, observing, learning, and yes, photographing.

These web pages are simply a way for me to catalog, not only my equipment and images, but my thoughts and feelings about photography. My triumphs as well as my frustrations. More often than not, I'll be posting these thoughts on my blog, but every once in a while I will write a free-standing article for this part of my site. Something I think is worthy of a static page; even if it is just a snapshot in time.
